10/07 BOYCOTT talks: Anna Haifisch

Boycott Talks – we invite illustrators, designers or artist to talk about their work in a specific context. Our guests will cover a wide range of topics from animation, book illustration, editorial design, to styles, techniques, and inspiration. This time the very talented comic artist Anna Haifisch will perform a reading of ‘The Artist’ at our BOYCOTT bookstore. The comics from this book appeared weekly on Vice.com from September 2015 to January 2016. Anna Haifisch’s idiosyncratic graphic novel ‘The Artist’ chronicles the experiences of a young artist, satirizing the exclusive and frequently absurd world of fine art. Plagued by doubts and anxiety, the artist is confronted with constant setbacks punctuated by occasional, surprising glimpses of recognition. Based on Haifisch’s own experiences as an illustrator, The Artist’s sharp and self-deprecating observations resonate with the current generation, especially those who make art. Tickets are €10 incl. drinks.
